This documentary offers a behind-the-scenes look at an ambitious kitesurfing mission around Cape Point, exploring whether it was possible to complete the route under wind and ocean power alone. Created in collaboration with Porsche, Red Bull, and Eye Force, the project follows Nick Jacobsen, Lasse Walker, Joshua Emanuel, and Liam Whaley as they attempt to navigate one of South Africa’s most iconic and demanding coastlines. Alongside the kiting challenge, the film also documents travel through the region in the fully electric Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo, linking performance, exploration, and innovation across both land and sea.
Filming the project presented significant challenges, particularly while shooting from the back of a boat in four-metre swell. Filming with a gimbal in these conditions required constant balance, precise timing, and physical endurance, as the vessel pitched unpredictably in heavy seas. Maintaining stable framing while protecting equipment from saltwater and impact demanded careful coordination with the crew, as well as rapid decision-making to capture the action safely and effectively in one of the most dynamic marine environments around Cape Point.
