This documentary follows Liam Whaley, Aaron Hadlow, and Andrea Principi on a road trip from Cape Town to Lüderitz, Namibia, in search of uncrowded wind and unexplored kitesurfing locations. After two days on the road, the team arrives in one of the world’s most extreme wind destinations, where they ride powerful conditions in complete isolation. The film captures the discovery of new spots and the use of specialised kite techniques, including short-line riding, while offering an immersive behind-the-scenes look into the daily life of professional kitesurfers on a Duotone shoot. Blending travel, performance, and raw moments on the road, the project invites viewers into the rhythm and reality of a remote kitesurfing expedition.

Filming in Lüderitz was an extreme test of skill and adaptability, with winds exceeding 50 knots on most days and sand blasting across the beach, making standard shooting conditions extremely difficult. To capture the action, I combined wide-angle and long-lens techniques to balance scale and detail, alongside both traditional drone and FPV drone work for dynamic aerial perspectives. These conditions demanded constant adjustment, precise timing, and creative solutions to ensure cinematic quality while safely capturing the intensity and freedom of the riders in one of the world’s most challenging kitesurfing locations.
