After several years of working at Red Bull King of the Air, Nick Walters and I wanted to approach the event from a different angle. Rather than focusing solely on the competition itself. The idea was to creatively introduce Mystic’s team riders in the lead-up to the event and build anticipation before the first heat even started.

Shot across Tarifa, Spain, and Cape Town, South Africa, the project combined a three-camera studio setup with carefully selected footage from previous editions of the event. This mix allowed us to blend clean, controlled studio visuals with the raw energy of big-air kitesurfing, resulting in a strong and distinctive introduction to the Mystic team.

Red Bull King of the Air is widely regarded as the most prestigious kitesurfing event in the world. For the past two years, I have worked closely with Mystic as their main event sponsor, producing video and social content centred around their riders, including world champion big-air kitesurfer Lorenzo Casati.

The focus throughout was on emotion and storytelling, pairing the intensity of the sport with a more personal look at the athletes behind it. The resulting content received strong engagement and positive feedback from Mystic’s audience and helped set the tone for their presence at the event.
