It’s not every day you get asked by five-time world champion freestyle kitesurfer Bruna Kajiya to produce the marketing campaign for her latest collection with Mystic.
Shot over three days in Greece, the project required both photo and video coverage across three products: Bruna’s bikini, long-sleeve shorty wetsuit, and her brand-new harness. Tight timelines and changing conditions made it a demanding shoot, but an incredibly enjoyable one, and the final results speak for themselves.
To capture the action, I combined long-lens shooting from the water with in-water camera work, alongside experimenting with the latest GoPro and its macro lens. By mounting the camera directly to the harness in different environments, we were able to create unique, original perspectives that added energy and detail to the campaign.
We shot from sunrise to sunset, with the opening sequence filmed at blue hour, Bruna standing in the water as the light fades, a moment that sets the tone and immediately draws the viewer in.
